This morning I arrived at Sevenoaks Nature Reserve at around 7.50am and waited a few mins for Denis to arrive, the first hide in the area of the visitor centre has a wasps nest within so I decided to stay without!
I had all my gear with me today, Camera, Scope and Bins and notepad, alas as I took the 1st photo the message on the camera screen stated that I did not have my SD card inserted, this was correct as it was still in my computer at home!
There was a lot of birds calling out in the fine warm morning and a fair few flying about, our list is as follows:
BLACK HEADED GULLS
GREAT CRESTED GREBE
GREY LAG GEESE
GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER
A FAMILY OF 6 TREECREEPERS
That gave us 25 species just along one path, they were also catching birds in Mist Nets today for ringing purposes which was interesting to view.
The couple of pictures below were take with my IPhone.
Roman Snail (note the 5p for size comarison)
Gatekeeper ( male)
