OXON HOATH PATCH WALK WITH DAVE

This morning I went and collected Dave at around 10.20am and we drove up to OXONHOATH for a bit of a patch walk, I have not been up there for ages so was looking forward to it. There was a light misty rain in the air, so,  we decided to just park the car at the start point in High House Lane and just walk the lower fields towards Carpenters Lane and back again.

We had a years starting total of just 16 species:

WOOD PIGEON
SKYLARKS
CARRION CROWS
JAY
ROOKS
ROBIN
GREEN WOODPECKER
BLACKBIRD
GREAT TIT
JACKDAW
FIELDFARE
SNIPE (A SPRING OF) 8 IN TOTAL
STARLINGS
PHEASANT
MAGPIE

I have made myself a spreadsheet to keep track of the birds I see, i.e at Home, and various other places I visit on a regular basis.

Below are a couple of Macro shots of an Ivy leaf and a seed pod.

  1. Great idea to keep the records on a spread sheet Phil. Maybe you should make Oxon Hoath your local patch, see how many species turn up there ?

  2. Hi Phil and Mandy.
I agree with Warren, Why not walk your local patch more often this year to see just ho many species you see in total.
    Always good to keep records.
